Socio-Economic Determinants of Urbanization in the Perspective of Pakistan

This analysis examines the socioeconomic determinants of urbanization in Pakistan by using data from 1970 to 2020. For estimation, an ARDL technique and error correction model is used. The main outcomes show that variables gross domestic savings, inflation rate, industrialization, education, population growth GDP per capita are positively associated with urbanization, while financial development exports negatively Pakistan. However, impact remittances, goods services on statistically insignificant. Considering study outcomes, it suggested control increasing Pakistan, important design policies improve basic necessities rural areas strengthen agriculture sector discourage rural-to-urban migration.
